People can suffer or can be happy about their climate. Just like Brazil, because here too we have many climates. Climate, my culture element, is a material culture element. Climate is the weather of one area that has been researched over time. A material element has to be touchable, and climate is since it has water or snow. Climate can sometimes give us food or not give us food. When the climate is too dry, the crops will never grow. On the other hand, when the climate is humid, the crops will grow and there will be a lot of food .

Hey, do  you know what? You look you’re kind of confused about climate. Let me tell you more. Climate varies place to place. Like in the rainforest, it’s humid and rainy. But in the dessert, it’s so dry and sunny. And do you think that the climate can’t change? WRONG! The climate changes because of the environment of the place. So, when there is a lot of pollution, it might change the environment. But, do you know how many climate types there are in Brazil? There are six types of climate! The reason why they vary so much is that Brazil is over and under the Equator.

I told you that Brazil has many climates. Let me tell you about the most common climate in Brazil, which is the climate in the tropical region. This occupies 90% of Brazil. The tropical region is said to be the rainiest place in Brazil. There, it rains about 2000~3000ml a year. Since the rain forest is so rainy, there are lots of plants there. Such as the capirona, delnoix flower and hotlips flower. There are more than 40,000 types of plants which live there. The rain forest may have a lot of plants, but the soil is poor. The reason that the tropical has so many plants is leaves which fall from the trees will become a perfect fertilizer. The tropical is a paradise of the natural resources.

There are climates that is the totally opposite of the tropical regions. The northeast region takes up less than the fifth of Brazil. This region is separated into 2 parts, the coastal plain and the sertao. The northeast has a wide range of temperature, from 12°C to 42°C. The rainfall also has a wide range between places. Some places rains about 169cm per year and in some coastal areas, it only rains about 26 cm per year.  So the northeast regions have a very dry and hot climate.

The central and the southern plateaus are at the high land. The central and southern plateaus is 300 to 900m above sea level. This area has a cooler climate than the others. Sometimes but rarely, at the south of this region, it snows! This is a big deal for Brazil because it’s said to be there is no snow in Brazil. This place rains about 130cm per year. Now you know that there are many climates in Brazil!
