Sesshoseki (Back) by
Tanner and Youyu
Sesshoseki is in Japan
at a corner of a mountain by a hot spring. It had a willow tree and a murder
stone. We think the place he visited was gross because there was a lot of dead
birds and dead insects. There was a rock was covered with poisonous gas around
it.

I
learned that place is the personality of your area. It can be nature
like. For water, there were streams. For plants, there were willow
trees. For land there were mountains. On animals there were dead bees,
butterflies, other insects, a horse and birds. For machines, there was
riding on a horse. On language, there was bird language. For the jobs, a
farmer asked Basho to compose a poem. On buildings, there was a village
called Ashino and a city called Kurobane. For communication, there was a
cry of the cuckoo. If l was Basho, I would be sick because there were a
lot of dead birds, insect and the poisonous gas but the good thing about
it was I could rest my feet! He came from a lower samurai family. Basho did not have enough money to support himself as a full-time poet. So, he had to work for the water department to support himself. He started to get restless in the city so he went on a journey to gain peace. It was a difficult journey because he had lots of health problems. He taught most of what he knew to his students. A farmer asked Basho to compose a poem. Turn
the head of your horse Sideways
across the field, To
let me hear The
cry of the cuckoo
