Mesopotamian Project

The Purpose: Being able to find new
knowledge and understanding how to fit it into what you already
know is a big part of what this class is all about. While we
work on the high points of the Mesopotamian culture, there is so
much more out there to discover! All of History6 will be working
on different projects. Part of a project is group work and part
is individual. Some of the project will be done in school. Some
HAS to be done at home. At the end of the time, you will have:
- Looked
at the key problem given for your project, figured out how
to attack it, and made a plan for answering it in a story
form.

Practiced your researching skills using materials from the
library, from the materials I have given you and from the
intranet.
- Figured
out which details and information could be helpful and
written them in note taking form.
- Worked
with your smaller group to post information that could help
you all on the Wiki.
- Wrote
an one page paper making sure you used citations at the
bottom.
- Make
some sort of physical at home to bring to school.
- With
your group, do a five minute presentation to explain your
project to the others in your class.
Timeline:
- Feb.
26-Mar. 3: Religion and Code of Hammurabi in class. Project:
Pick topic and who you are going to work with. Finish up
Religion and Code of Hammurabi.
- Mar. 5-
9: Do the analysis of problem and receive printed materials
folder from me on your first day in the library. Work in
library for two class days, gathering information and making
notes. At the end of the week, we will finish have finished
the Geography Powerpoint and talked about Writing. That
Friday, the laptops are booked so you can write start to
your write your report in class. Homework: At home, you
will need to start to work on your model so that you have
some time to do a good quality product.
- Mar.
12-14: In class, Trade and World View (20 minutes max per
day.) Finish writing your story and print it out at school .
Too, you will have time to work with your group.
- MARCH
15- MARCH 16: Presentation Days! (These are Thursday and
Fridays)
- Open
Book Quiz: March 19, March 20. (I will give you all the
multiple choice questions ahead of time!)

responsible for and what will I be graded on? Good
questions. Here we are!
Group Grades:

Analysis of Your Problem: Figure out what information you
need to research, what key words or ideas will help you,
what kinds of print materials you will have to read or make
a copy of. (2pts)
- Staying
on Task in the Library (2pts)

Essay Question (Done during part of the open book test) (4
pts)
Individual Grades:

Uploading important information and resources to the Wiki so
that all the group could use it. (Balance and everyone
working equally is going to be very important here!) (2pts)
- Written
One Page Realistic Fiction Paper. Half of the grade will be
on if you wrote it well and the other half on the content.
