![]() Material world is anything you can touch your basic needs are material world. Non material world are things like thoughts and feeling. Mesopotamia connects to the material and none material world by way of there inventions, inventions have to be touched to be used or made. The non material world connects to Mesopotamia through way of knowledge you can’t touch knowledge so it is material world. First off, knowledge was passed for centuries until it reached us, did you know libraries came with it? Graded and Mesopotamia have some things in common here are some examples. The libraries in Mesopotamia were the first ever recorded even if just people who could read went there. Here in Graded we have a library but everyone in school who wants a book can just check one out. In Mesopotamia if your father was low, medium or high class he was likely to have a job. Here in Graded all fathers work on good jobs. Boys from all around Mesopotamia who are high class and can afford paying go to school and learn how to read, write and arithmetic. In our school 100 percent of us know how to read write and how to do math. The great problem of Mesopotamia were the women or the moms, they were treated badly and with no chance of having a job, they had to stay day and night teaching the girl or her daughter house work. Here in our community only half of our moms work out of their houses. All of the knowledge Mesopotamians had led them to great inventions too. Did you know that Mesopotamian's knowledge help them develop their inventions, which we still have today! We think that having a computer is important to have at home; we also think that a television is important to get informed. Mesopotamians developed the system of writing letters and numbers; with this they could record important information. They got informed this way. As you know, in schools we have to fallow rules. Hammurabi one of Mesopotamian's king developed the first system of written laws. He did this so people could be organized and be together, just like us! Hammurabi’s code was “An eye for an eye an ear for an ear” this basically means if some one did something to you, you should do the same thing back. Know days we trade a lot of things such as food, cloth, petroleum e.t.c. Mesopotamian's also developed trade, when they develop the system of trading they could grow more food than they could eat. They used trade for goods and services. Have you stop and notice how many big and well design apartments we have now days? The Assyrians designed and built the first well-planed cities. How could they invent the first system of written laws, the writing system, well-planed cities?! Well know you know it was all knowledge. Inventions are super important for war fare. Take the war chariot or the battering ram for example. With out inventions warfare would be a group of people throwing rocks at each other. The Assyrians used to be attacked so much that they soon decided that the best way to defend themselves was to attack. In the field of war fare the Assyrians were ferocious, they were so powerful because they had advanced weaponry and war vehicles. The Assyrians were the first to ever outfit there armies entirely with iron. The Assyrians had battering rams that tore through the enemy’s outer walls, but the most feared part of the Assyrian weaponry was the war chariots they were v shaped and made out of six long planks of wood. Soldiers would sit in the chariots and tear there way through the enemy ranks. The Assyrians were known as the Nazis of the ancient world. War fare in Graded is, as far as I can remember, just a couple of thieves who broke in and the police came in to look for them and bring them in. Mesopotamia and Graded School have very different world views. Graded's world view is very good all sixth graders have a positive outlook of their lives. Some times may be hard but all the time they believe it will work out. They have choices, and there is time to enjoy their age. No force from the outside can affect what they do. Independent of what Mesopotamians do the consequence is almost always negative, but if they do something that pleases the gods the consequence can be positive. Men have more chance of living well than women do. Kids can be sold and chances of studying are poor. Mesopotamia live depended on their gods. They need to treat the gods with respect or then they would be punished. Their world view was mostly negative, specially for woman. Woman in Mesopotamia weren’t respected, their punishment were cruel, not like the men’s. Mesopotamians also needed to work hard to plant crops if the spring rain never came or not in the right amount the plant would not grow, and people will stay with out food. Also if the rain came in big amounts, the plain flooded the plant would day, it will kill people and animal and again they would stay with out food. So now you know that Graded world view is much better compare to Mesopotamia.
